Sephora VIB 20% off Wishlist

Okay, it’s that time of the year and I felt like my inner beauty-obsessed self  need to re-emerge from where I buried it. I have really capped my spending on beauty and skin care products for the last little while, but I still spent hours on Sephora just to browse all the wonderful products out there. So naturally you can imagine when it’s time for 20% off, there are a bunch of stuff that I would like to get. Obviously I won’t get everything I want as they will break my bank, but one can wish right? So here are my picks…

1. Marc Jacobs Sky Liner Seven Piece Petite Highliner collection – I have previously declared my love for the Highliner, and they are hella expensive on their own. I feel like with the 20% discount, it makes the price of this set much more palatable. Plus, it’s a great way to try out different colour eyeliners!

2. NARS Audacious lipsticks – I am aware I don’t need another lipstick, but I have heard only positive things about this line of lipsticks, and the packaging is just… perfect. The shade range is pretty big too. I have a hard time deciding which one is my fav but I am very inclined to check out Natalie, Kelly, and Vivien.

3. Glam Glow Gift Sexy – I love Glam Glow. I have tried both the white and black one and enjoyed them equally. I still haven’t had the chance to try ThirstyMud because I just can’t justify spending $76 on one tub of mask. This set comes with a small jar of YouthMud and Supermud, and with the 20% off I think I might just bite the bullet on this one.

4. Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush Palette – After lipsticks, I think my 2nd favourite beauty product category is blushes. I am ashamed to admit to how many blushes I have, but come on. Just look at this. It just looks… divine. Argh I want to take you home so bad.

5. Bite Beauty Best Bite Remix – Bite Beauty brought out another similar set previously, but with different shades. My lovely friend and fellow blogger Pearlessence got me that as a gift and I friggin’ loved it. It feels so comfortable on the lips and it has such great pigmentation. This set is so perfect for the colder months. Consider it done.

6. Chloe Rollerball Trio – One Chloe rollerball would cost you $30CAD normally. This is currently on sale for $36 and there are 3 of them! With the 20% off… its cheaper than getting one rollerball on its own. Just think about it. The Chloe perfume is such a beautiful scent too. Timeless.

7. Sephora Favourites Beauty Unmasked – I can’t round this up without some sort of Sephora set. I love masks and this quartet is right up my alley. I have the Origin Clear Improvement mask and love it. The other 3 have been on my to-try list forever. Into the shopping cart it goes.

I think I should end it there because otherwise it will go on forever. What are your picks?? I would love to hear some recommendation from you girls since I haven’t been beauty shopping for a long time and I am ready to go all-out!

Favourite Spring/Summer Polishes

PhotoGrid_1367687004688Left to right: China Glaze Lemon Fizz, China Glaze For Audrey, Essie Meet Me At Sunset, Essie Lights, Essie Lapiz of Luxury

The weather here in town has finally warmed up, so I think it’s a good time to do a quick favourite spring/summer polishes.

China Glaze Lemon Fizz is a lovely yellow polish, and the lone yellow polish I own. It doesn’t have the best formula, it’s kind of streaky and it takes 3-4 coats to achieve full opacity. But the gorgeous colour makes the application bearable. I used 4 coats for the picture.

China Glaze For Audrey is a polish that needs no introduction. It’s the “Tiffany blue” colour that is so well-known. The application of this is pretty good, 2 coats was enough for it to be opaque.

Next up is Essie Meet Me At Sunset. It’s a orange red that is just perfect for summer. I forgot I had this polish in my stash until I read ViviannaDoesMakeup’s post about dupes for Chanel’s Holiday polish. The application is great, and one coat was enough for it to be opaque, but I used two in the picture.

Another bright colour that is perfect for summer is Essie’s Lights. It’s a wham-bam in your face kinda neon pink. The polish itself is on the thick side, so it made application slightly tricky. It also dried to a semi-matte finish, so I would recommend putting a top coat over it to make it glossy. 1 coat is enough for it to be opaque, but again I used 2 in the picture.

Last but not least is Essie Lapiz of Luxury. It’s a lovely periwinkle blue. I always get compliments when I wear this polish. The polish itself is slightly on the thin side, but 2 thicker coats are enough for opacity. I used 2 coats for the shot above.

So that rounds up my 5 favourite polishes for spring/summer. What are your favourite polishes for this season?

May Favourites!

How is it June already?! Time passes way, way, way too fast! It means I’m going to be going on my trip in a couple weeks! So exciting, yet I”m dreading the whole planning and packing process… which I will leave till last minute sadly. I don’t think I’ve ever done a post on monthly favourites, so I figure I should start it now! Continue reading

Wish list Vol 4.

I haven’t done a wish list in quite a while. There haven’t been too many things I wanted, so it took me a while to put together another wish list. It’s a mish-mash of make up, tech stuff, shoes, accessories etc. What are you wishing for right now?

Great Finds on Etsy

Lately I have been browsing Etsy quite a lot. I used to be on it constantly when it first started a few years back, but stopped for whatever reason. I am so glad I finally got back into it since there are so many great things on Etsy and for the most part, they are quite reasonably priced!

For those of you who are not familiar with Etsy, it is basically a site where people list things they want to sale. It’s limited to either handmade, or vintage items. You have to register for an account if you want to buy anything. I like Etsy because it is well organized, easy to navigate, and there are TONS of great items on it! It has a wide variety of items from jewelry, clothing, to even furnitures!

I love how all the shipping prices are listed, and if something you love is out… you can always message the seller and see if they can make more! I also like how for each seller there are a lot of reviews and ratings so you don’t have to worry about getting scammed!

I am super sensitive to what material my jewelries are made of. Not consciously, but my body just reacts with anything that’s not white gold, gold, platinum. Sterling silver and stainless steel… it depends, sometimes I am okay with them for necklace, sometime not. I even get rashes from wearing Tiffany & Co. sterling silver necklaces. Super annoying I tell you. My fingers are more tolerating so they are usually okay with sterling silver, but my ear piercings are super picky! So I have learnt to pay a lot of attention to the material of jewelries I buy. Things made with gold, white gold or platinum are not cheap, hence I have not bought any jewelry for a while, but a lot of the jewelry on Etsy seems like they will be sensitive-skin-friendly so I am excited to get some of those! And here are some that I am thinking about getting for myself!

Wishlist Vol. 3

I was planning on posting this on leap year day… but decided that school is slightly more important… Guess I will have to wait 4 more years for another chance to post on Feb 29.

Anyhow, it’s wishlist time again! I haven’t been window/online browsing a lot last month so there aren’t thattttttt many things I want. I was very focused on deciding which Balenciaga City to get, and nope. Still no decision.

I have been mostly obsessed with shoes lately, particularly sandals. Spring is almost here! Both neutral and bright sandals are going strong this spring. Especially colour blocks!

Eyeko Skinny Brush Mascara
NARS Night Breed Nail Polish
Christian Louboutin Summerissima Crisscross Platform Sandal

I crave… Glittery Chunky Polishes

So pearlessence and I were talking about nail polishes despite the fact that we had more urgent matters to attend to (ahem exams…) and it got me looking through my polish collection. One thing I really need to add to my collection is glittery polishes and those with chunky glitters! They are so pretty and I always get captivated by the way they look, yet I never end up buying any for some reason. I am determined to add some of these polishes to my collection since they are absolutely gorgeous!

Here are a few that I am craving for right now. What polishes are you loving now?
