Balenciaga City… But Which One?

February 24, 2012 § 14 Comments

It’s no secret I am obsessed with Balenciaga bags lately and have been thinking about getting a Balenciaga City bag. And then I wanted the Celine Boston Tote… then the Chanel Executive Tote… then the Chanel 2.55… and well… we all know these are all really expensive and let’s be honest here: I cannot afford more than one of these.

After much consideration and debate… I have finally made up my mind that I will splurge and get the Balenciaga City! I’ve wanted it for so long, and it’s of great quality. My shopping habit has shifted from buy cheap stuff that will last me a while just because of impulse buy, to buying items of higher quality (and most of the time, inevitably expensive) since they will last longer. Obviously that means I will be shopping less but I am okay with that! Less is more right?

But now comes the more difficult, and more important question… which one should I get? Regular hardware, giant 12, or giant 21? Gold/Rose Gold/Silver? Which colour? Too many options! I have narrowed it down to a few to choose from, and now I need your opinion!

February 23, 2012 § Leave a Comment

Reading week is going by way.too.fast. How is it already Thursday? I went home during this break and spent lots of time with my family and did some shopping and had some great food. Time to slowly get back to school mode and face the upcoming exams, assignments, and interview! Which also means blog post might be less frequent, but I promise once everything’s done I will be back with more posts! :)

Obsessed with… Printed Tops

February 23, 2012 § 3 Comments

I am currently in this phase where I am completely obsessed with blouses. No more T-shirts. No more hoodies. Just blouses. I think it’s part of my effort in trying to slowly transform my still-juvenile closet to a more sophisticated and mature one.

And I have noticed when I am shopping for blouses, I keep gravitating towards those with cute print all over it. It’s no secret that I am obsessed with polka dots, but lately I find myself attracted to other prints… starting with bows, then hearts, then anchors, then owls… you name it. They add such a cute twist to classic blouses and can be worn with many different outfits. Pair it with jeans and an oversized bag for a casual look, or with a skirt and heels for a work-approve look (stick to more traditional prints might be a good idea if you are going to wear it to work. No cats, no owls…).

Here’s a round up for a few cute printed blouses! Let me know which one you like the most!

Lush Buffy Body Butter Review

February 22, 2012 § 12 Comments

So as promised, here’s a review for the Lush “Buffy” body butter. I picked this up a little less than a week ago but I have been using it everyday so I feel like I have used it enough for a review.

As mentioned in my mini-haul post, I picked it up in store when I meant to get the You Snap The Whip body butter, but the girl there recommended Buffy saying it’s a best seller and it’s a lot more moisturizing. So here I am with this body butter.

When I think body butter, I think body moisturizer, like those from The Body Shop. (And when I think Buffy, I think Buffy the Vampire Slayer…) But in Lush term, body butter is actually an exfoliator with moisturizer.

Ingredients (From Lush.ca)
Fair Trade Cocoa Butter (Theobroma Cacao), Shea Butter (Butyrospermum parkii), Ground Rice (Oryza Sativa), Ground Almonds (Prunus dulcis), Ground Aduki Beans (Phaseolus), Perfume, Lavender Oil (Lavandula hybrida), Lemon Oil (Citrus limonum), Citral, Limonene, Linalool

Indulging in Brunch…

February 19, 2012 § 2 Comments

I can’t even recall the last time I had a Sunday Brunch (or any brunch) to be honest, excluding the days I slept in and it’s too late for breakfast. I meant enjoying a brunch buffet at a nice restaurant/hotel. Luckily, my family decided to head to Fort Garry Hotel in town to try out their infamous Sunday Brunch.

Upon entering the hotel, we were greeted by the delicious smell of bacon, sausage, omelette etc. And yes, I forgot to take a picture of the lobby… fail. Anyhow, there were food basically all around the lobby, they have your usual brunch items, but also freshly made omelettes, Belgian waffles with homemade whipped cream, and eggs benedict!

The dessert table was pure heaven. There’s various types of macaroons, crème brûlée, and.. wait for it, a chocolate fountain!

TheBalm Shady Lady Vol. 2 + Pinterest

February 19, 2012 § 2 Comments

I wasn’t huge on eyeshadow palettes or colourful shadows until pearlessence showed me theBalm Shady Lady Vol. 2. I was so in love with it that I decided I will get one for myself. I’m so thankful for Black Friday sales and a boyfriend who was in the States at the time, I was able to take advantage of the 30% off and got the Shady Lady Vol. 2 palette and the Nude ‘tude palette. Here’s some quick swatches for the Shady Lady Vol. 2 palette. Swatches for Nude ‘tude will be up soon!

I haven’t actually tried out the shadows so I cannot speak for its lasting powder and such. But upon swatching, they feel very soft and smooth, and the colour payoff is excellent for the darker colours and pretty good for the lighter shades.

The palette comes with 9 different shadows, they are all shimmery, some more than others (especially “Caught in the act Courtney”), and 5 of them can be used as liner as well.

See the swatches after the jump!
