Well.ca Haul and Experience Review
March 28, 2013 § 2 Comments
A little while ago Well.ca was having a sale on some CoverGirl products, so I took advantage of that and got a few things from the website. This is my first time placing an order from them so I decided to post a review about them also.
First let’s get on with the haul, all the CoverGirl products I got were 50% off, including the Outlast Stay Brilliant Nail Gloss in the shades Black Diamond, Constant Candy, and Perfect Penny (Right to Left). I originally got 3 of the CoverGirl Jumbo Gloss Balm, in the shades Rose Twist (top), Blush Twist (bottom), and Ruby Twist, which unfortunately was not packed with my package. Instead, they packed the Rimmel Stay Glossy Lipgloss in the shade All Night Long (more on this matter in a bit). I also picked up the CoverGirl Clump Crusher Mascara in Very Black because I’ve heard a lot of amazing things about it. To bring my total up to enough for free shipping, I picked up the Tresemme Nourishing Rituals Rejuvenating Mud Masque, since I have been quite into hair masks lately, in hopes to salvage my damaged hair.
When I found out they packed the wrong item, I was NOT happy, especially because I was super excited to try Ruby Twist. So I gave them a call, and first, I didn’t have to wait in line, and the customer service was really nice and helpful. After I explained what happened, she told me she would refund me for the Jumbo Gloss Balm that I didn’t get, and told me to keep the Rimmel lipgloss. I also got my refund within 10 minutes of hanging up, which I think is amazingly fast. Apart from this little fiasco, the whole shopping experience on their site was very smooth, and items shipped the next day, and I got them within 2 days. Overall I am very satisfied with my experience with Well.ca and I will definitely
R+S: Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Honey
March 27, 2013 § 2 Comments
As promised before, here’s a quick review and swatch of the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in the shade Honey. I have been intrigued by the JBKBS ever since it was released, but the range of colour never really impressed me. Don’t get me wrong, there are some gorgeous shades, but there aren’t too many that would suit my skin tone and is okay for day-to-day wear. Honey is the closest thing to that.
Honey is a muted pink with a hint of mauve. It’s a perfect everyday colour. It has pretty good pigmentation, and applied very smoothly. It did not accentuate any dry patches or lines on my lips, but it left my lips super dry. Sad day. It was to the point where the skin on my lips started peeling off chunks by chunks – gross I know. The gloss was gone pretty fast, around 1-2 hours, but my lips were stained for another 2-3 hours, so the wear time is pretty good.
Bottom line: Loved the colour, super sad that it dried my lips like no tomorrow. I think I am a bigger fan of the Covergirl Jumbo Gloss Balm!
Have you tried both Revlon and Covergirl’s jumbo lip balms? Which one do you prefer?
NARS + Essie + The Bay Haul
April 28, 2012 § 20 Comments
I went to Holt Renfrew today in hope of locating the Prada bags I have been lusting for… but with no luck. Holt Renfrew just does not carry what I want! They did not have the Balenciaga City Bag that I wanted, or the Marc by Marc Jacob wallet that I wanted… and now this. But all is not lost! I wandered to the NARS counter, and ended up purchasing two NARS products from their summer collection. They did not have the products out for display yet, but they did have the products in stock. (Sephora did not have the summer collection in stock as of today). I got the Never Say Never Velvet Matte Lip Pencil, and the Liberte Blush. I totally did not plan on getting these today (was going to wait till I head to the states), but Holt Renfrew is having a promotion where you get a gift card that’s worth 15% of your cosmetic purchase, and 25% of your apparel and accessory purchase. Their site says it’s from April 28-29. I also got a Valentino perfume sample when I saw walking around! Yay for perfume samples! « Read the rest of this entry »
