Well.ca Haul and Experience Review
March 28, 2013 § 2 Comments
A little while ago Well.ca was having a sale on some CoverGirl products, so I took advantage of that and got a few things from the website. This is my first time placing an order from them so I decided to post a review about them also.
First let’s get on with the haul, all the CoverGirl products I got were 50% off, including the Outlast Stay Brilliant Nail Gloss in the shades Black Diamond, Constant Candy, and Perfect Penny (Right to Left). I originally got 3 of the CoverGirl Jumbo Gloss Balm, in the shades Rose Twist (top), Blush Twist (bottom), and Ruby Twist, which unfortunately was not packed with my package. Instead, they packed the Rimmel Stay Glossy Lipgloss in the shade All Night Long (more on this matter in a bit). I also picked up the CoverGirl Clump Crusher Mascara in Very Black because I’ve heard a lot of amazing things about it. To bring my total up to enough for free shipping, I picked up the Tresemme Nourishing Rituals Rejuvenating Mud Masque, since I have been quite into hair masks lately, in hopes to salvage my damaged hair.
When I found out they packed the wrong item, I was NOT happy, especially because I was super excited to try Ruby Twist. So I gave them a call, and first, I didn’t have to wait in line, and the customer service was really nice and helpful. After I explained what happened, she told me she would refund me for the Jumbo Gloss Balm that I didn’t get, and told me to keep the Rimmel lipgloss. I also got my refund within 10 minutes of hanging up, which I think is amazingly fast. Apart from this little fiasco, the whole shopping experience on their site was very smooth, and items shipped the next day, and I got them within 2 days. Overall I am very satisfied with my experience with Well.ca and I will definitely
R+S: Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Honey
March 27, 2013 § 2 Comments
As promised before, here’s a quick review and swatch of the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in the shade Honey. I have been intrigued by the JBKBS ever since it was released, but the range of colour never really impressed me. Don’t get me wrong, there are some gorgeous shades, but there aren’t too many that would suit my skin tone and is okay for day-to-day wear. Honey is the closest thing to that.
Honey is a muted pink with a hint of mauve. It’s a perfect everyday colour. It has pretty good pigmentation, and applied very smoothly. It did not accentuate any dry patches or lines on my lips, but it left my lips super dry. Sad day. It was to the point where the skin on my lips started peeling off chunks by chunks – gross I know. The gloss was gone pretty fast, around 1-2 hours, but my lips were stained for another 2-3 hours, so the wear time is pretty good.
Bottom line: Loved the colour, super sad that it dried my lips like no tomorrow. I think I am a bigger fan of the Covergirl Jumbo Gloss Balm!
Have you tried both Revlon and Covergirl’s jumbo lip balms? Which one do you prefer?
R+S: Covergirl Jumbo Gloss Balm in Coral Twist
March 19, 2013 § Leave a Comment
Hi all! Sorry for the lack of posting lately. I’ve finally found some time to get back to this blogging business, and boy I didn’t even realize how much I missed it!
Anyhow, today I bring to you a quick review and swatch of the Covergirl Jumbo Gloss Balm in the shade Coral Twist (235). It is a gorgeous coral color that is just bright enough for some added colours to the lips, but not too bright for everyday wear. I think this is going to be my go-to lip product for spring and summer this year because the colour is so pretty and versatile. It applied smoothly, without any drag, but I didn’t think it was that moisturizing. Mind you, this did not dry my lips out, but it is advertised as a balm so I expected a but more hydration from this. Wear-time wise, it maxed out at around 3 hours for me, which is not really surprising given that this is supposed to be a “balm”.
I am a little late on this jumbo-lip-pencil/gloss/balm-bandwagon, since Ikind of dropped out of the beauty circle for a while. But with all these different companies coming out of this type of products, I am excited to try more! As a matter of fact, I (finally) grabbed myself a Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm (in Honey), so expect a review + swatch of that in the next little while!
Have you tried this type of lip product? What is your favourite?

I realize it’s been a long time since I made a new post, and my apologies! School and life have been super busy lately so I didn’t really have the time to blog, but I am going to try to get a blogpost in here and there (no promises though since exam is creeping up real soon). It definitely feels good to be blogging again though! Anyways onto the meat of the post… « Read the rest of this entry »

Last MAC Haul in Hong Kong + 1st Brow Shaping Experience
July 15, 2012 § 2 Comments
Okay. So I have 2 more days in Hong Kong, and I am NOT planning on doing more hauls. (We will see how that goes). Here’s my one last MAC haul in Hong Kong, and probably my last haul for a long time, since I will be embarking my Project x Pan journey when I get back to Canada. I also wanted to talk about my first time getting my eyebrows fixed, and my very first “make up class”, all at MAC! « Read the rest of this entry »
Hong Kong MAC Haul Round 2
July 10, 2012 § 6 Comments
Yeap. Another MAC haul. I went all out yesterday, after finding out that most basically everything from MAC is cheaper in HK than in Canada (taking tax into consideration). I swear this is the last haul I’m doing in Hong Kong, and I will be starting a project 20 pan when I get back to Canada! (I apologize for the quality of the pictures, but the lighting at the place I’m staying at isn’t the most idea for picture taking. I will be posting reviews on these when I get home, along with better pictures!) « Read the rest of this entry »

Hong Kong Haul Day 2!
June 23, 2012 § 6 Comments
The weather is still humid and hot like yesterday, and I am bracing myself for weather like this for the rest of my time in HK, which I hope isn’t true lol! I headed back to Mannings today just because I can (gotta love how convenient it is to get everywhere in HK!), and also did a quick stop-by at a chain department store called Log-On. « Read the rest of this entry »
