Wish list Vol 4.

I haven’t done a wish list in quite a while. There haven’t been too many things I wanted, so it took me a while to put together another wish list. It’s a mish-mash of make up, tech stuff, shoes, accessories etc. What are you wishing for right now?

Wishful Wednesday… Kate Spade Elina Flats

I have been looking for a new pair of flats for a while, and this is no easy task for me. Most flats make my feet bleed (yeah… I’m way beyond just blisters). I am also very picky about how my flats look. I personally prefer heels, but my feet and ankles feel otherwise. I have had times where I wear heels for the whole week, and then my ankle (or some tendon in there) decide to get inflammed and hurt with every step I take. So I guess a new pair of flats is needed.

I currently own one pair of flats (and maybe 10 pairs of heels… oops), and it is a pair of leopard printed flats from Aldo that I picked up for around $11CAD (It was on clearance and then there’s an extra 30% off and I had a discount for 15%). It is a bit too big for me, which also explains why it did not give me blisters (or a bloodbath!). But I have been wearing it so much I feel like its nearing the end of its services, hence here I am, looking for another pair of flats.

This pair of Kate Spade flats showed itself to me first on Pinterest, I fell in love with it instantly! Cork has been pretty big on heels lately, but I have never seen them used like this on flats! The gold cap also really drew me in. I love the contrast between the naturalness of the cork, and the trendiness of the gold.

Now if only this doesn’t cost a whopping $225… I might actually cave and buy this if they are really comfortable, so I guess I will see how I feel after I try them on!

Wishful Saturday: Prada Totes

I find this a little funny that I am wanting a Prada purse right now. I was never a big fan of Prada, possibly because back when I was in Hong Kong, I have seen way too many fake ones out there, and I feel like if I had one… people would just think it’s fake anyways since it’s everywhere. Another thing is… I haven’t been a huge fan of any of the “famous” luxury brands, eg Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Dior, etc. (I do occasionally enjoy some pieces they put out, I am just saying in general, I am not the biggest fan.) Probably because they are so over-exposed, and getting their bag just seems like I am screaming “look! I have money!”. (Just my personal opinion about how I would feel if I get those bags myself. I can totally understand and see how other people love those bags. Everyone has different tastes!)

I am just a university student who wants a nice bag. I worked when I’m in school, I pay for my rent, tuition, and even my flights to visit home. So I feel like I have the right to splurge on a bag if I really wanted it and can justify it. I want them because of their quality, and I treat them as an investment. If I spend a boatload of money on a bag that I absolutely love, and will last me forever, then I save a lot of money buying cheap, lower quality handbags over the years! Therefore I tend to gravitate toward brands that are just as great as some of the aforementioned brands, but more understated, eg. Balenciaga, Celine.

I was going to pick up the Balenciaga City bag, but the only store in Canada that carries Balenciaga (Holt Renfrew) did not import the colour I want this year! I really wanted Anthracite, but I was so so close to just getting a black one because I really loved the shape of the City. I didn’t end up doing that because if I am going to spend that much on a purse… I better love every.single.thing. about it.

So I was just browsing Neiman Marcus the other day because I was procrastinating (as usual), and this Prada Saffiano Lux Executive Tote just caught my eye. I love how simple, understated it is. Yet it’s so sophisticated and elegant. I love the shape of it, I like how its structured, and big enough to fit everything I need to have.

I also really liked the Chanel Executive Tote, and the Celine Boston Tote… so I found the Prada Saffiano Lux Structured Tote to be another bag that’s screaming “bring me home!”. It’s bigger than the Saffiano Lux Executive Tote, its more of a “square” shape. I’ve just been really into bags that shape lately.

There is one tiny problem with these two bags (for me), they don’t have a shoulder strap. I am mainly looking for a top handle bag, but it would be nice to have an option to wear them as a shoulder bag when I need to free up my hands to do more shopping. And when a bag costs this dang much, it better has everything I am looking for! So this is where the Cervo Zip Top Tote comes in.

The Cervo Zip Top Tote is similar size to the Saffiano Lux Structured Tote, but almost twice as deep (7″ vs 4″), which is a huge bonus. It is also slightly less “structured”, but it’s structured enough for me. I don’t really like slouchy bags, so I really appreciate it when purses are well structured. Most importantly, it comes with a shoulder strap! I will definitely have to check this out next time I head to Holt Renfrew!

I Crave… Balenciaga Gris Poivre City

Oh.em.gee. I am so in love with this Balenciaga bag. I don’t even know where to begin, I just NEED it, in this colour. I have always wanted a luxury bag without the brand’s logo plastered all over it (certain brands are okay… but some other ones are just too much.) Need to start saving up for this! Maybe this will be my graduation gift to myself!

I Crave… Lacey Shoes + Wish

Exam stress is getting to me, and my way of dealing with it is… to look at pretty things that I can’t afford! (Yes I know that makes no sense but hey that’s what works for me!) I was browsing on Nordstrom to look for ideas to submit a product to a site called “Wish” (more on this later in the post) and I realize every pair of shoes I click on are… lacey! (and pricey!) They are just so feminine and classy, I can’t help but fall in love with them (and hopefully own a pair soon, trying to save up for a pair of Louboutin!)

I have previously blogged about studded shoes and how there are cheaper (<$200) options, but personally I think it’s a different story for lace pumps. I have yet to come across any cheaper alternative of lace pumps that still look classy, but I will keep my eyes open for them for sure!

I crave… Glittery Chunky Polishes

So pearlessence and I were talking about nail polishes despite the fact that we had more urgent matters to attend to (ahem exams…) and it got me looking through my polish collection. One thing I really need to add to my collection is glittery polishes and those with chunky glitters! They are so pretty and I always get captivated by the way they look, yet I never end up buying any for some reason. I am determined to add some of these polishes to my collection since they are absolutely gorgeous!
