Well.ca Haul and Experience Review
March 28, 2013 § 2 Comments
A little while ago Well.ca was having a sale on some CoverGirl products, so I took advantage of that and got a few things from the website. This is my first time placing an order from them so I decided to post a review about them also.
First let’s get on with the haul, all the CoverGirl products I got were 50% off, including the Outlast Stay Brilliant Nail Gloss in the shades Black Diamond, Constant Candy, and Perfect Penny (Right to Left). I originally got 3 of the CoverGirl Jumbo Gloss Balm, in the shades Rose Twist (top), Blush Twist (bottom), and Ruby Twist, which unfortunately was not packed with my package. Instead, they packed the Rimmel Stay Glossy Lipgloss in the shade All Night Long (more on this matter in a bit). I also picked up the CoverGirl Clump Crusher Mascara in Very Black because I’ve heard a lot of amazing things about it. To bring my total up to enough for free shipping, I picked up the Tresemme Nourishing Rituals Rejuvenating Mud Masque, since I have been quite into hair masks lately, in hopes to salvage my damaged hair.
When I found out they packed the wrong item, I was NOT happy, especially because I was super excited to try Ruby Twist. So I gave them a call, and first, I didn’t have to wait in line, and the customer service was really nice and helpful. After I explained what happened, she told me she would refund me for the Jumbo Gloss Balm that I didn’t get, and told me to keep the Rimmel lipgloss. I also got my refund within 10 minutes of hanging up, which I think is amazingly fast. Apart from this little fiasco, the whole shopping experience on their site was very smooth, and items shipped the next day, and I got them within 2 days. Overall I am very satisfied with my experience with Well.ca and I will definitely
Project Pan – The Beginning
July 17, 2012 § 10 Comments
As you all know, I have had quite a number of huge hauls (what I posted is a only the tip of the iceberg) these past few weeks I’m in Korea and Hong Kong. Both in terms of skincare and make up. So I have decided to start my Project Pan now that I’m heading back to Canada tomorrow!
For those of you who are not familiar with Project Pan, it’s basically a project where you go on a beauty product shopping ban until you have used up or hit pan on X number of products. I think it’s a great way to save money and downsize my collection at the same time. I first heard about Project Pan from Amarixe (click here for her blogpost). “Project Pan” was first coined by lollipop26, who was a youtube guru, but she stopped making videos a while ago (but she is still blogging here).
I am the kind of person that cannot pass on a great deal, and over time I have accumulated a bunch of products even before my trip. After my trip, I have an absolutely ridiculous amount of products, and I feel terrible about buying all these things and not using them up. So here I am, starting my own Project Pan!
I originally wanted to do a Project 20 Pan, but I want to use up as many products as I can endure doing this (for at least 20 products), so I am just leaving it as project pan. The general rule is to finish x number of products before buying any new ones, but I have a few of my own additional “rule” to make this fit myself better.
1. I will be including hair care, skin care and beauty products. If I only do beauty products, I will NEVER (and I mean it) finish it.
2. I will include travel size items, but not samples or deluxe samples (Makes sense right? Plus I am thinking of doing one for samples later anyways.)
3. There are some types of products that I only have one of (eg setting powder), so if I finish that, I will allow myself to buy a replacement.
4. If a product (eg. gel liner, mascara) dries up, I will not count that product as being “used up”.
5. I will not even allow myself to buy limited edition products, no matter how tempting it is! (I will regret this soon enough I’m sure)
Hopefully I will finish it before the end of the year, because I know I will want to get some beauty products for my holiday shopping! I will be doing updates as I use up products, and maybe with mini reviews too! Have any of you tried Project Pan? I would love to hear/read about your experience!
May Luxe Box!
June 1, 2012 § 13 Comments

This was my first Luxebox, and I was originally super excited about it. I was out of the city for a bit so when I got back, the first thing I did was rushing to the mailbox to get my parcel. And then I opened it and found two boxes in it! But the excitement ended about there, because I opened it and looked at what I got, and I immediately decided I am cancelling my subscription. « Read the rest of this entry »
Lush Haul (and The Avengers)
May 18, 2012 § 9 Comments
Yes… another Lush haul. It seems like Lush just manages to suck me into the store every time I walk past it. I’m always just like… “I wil just take a quick look”, and yet I always walk out with something! « Read the rest of this entry »
Lush Solid Shampoo Squeaky Green Review
May 10, 2012 § 8 Comments
I picked this up in a haul a while back after winning a Lush gift card from Magdalena. I was looking to try one of their solid shampoo since I am super curious about how well they work. I asked the SA which one she’d recommend, since I know zilch about them. She recommended Squeaky Green for me, and so I got it! « Read the rest of this entry »
Mini Haul (Lancome + Macadamia Natural Oil)
April 12, 2012 § 51 Comments
Hmmm so… the last thing I should be doing is shopping, seeing how exams are coming up and I really need to study, but I saw a GWP promotion at Lancome, and I just got sucked in, and headed to the mall with pearlessence!
I picked up the Teint Miracle foundation from Lancome. I have been using the Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 14 hours this winter but it’s getting a little too heavy for Spring/Summer. Teint Miracle is a natural, light-weight foundation, with “AURA-INSIDE” technology to make the skin “lit-from-within”. It states that it has moderate coverage, natural finish. I got it in the shade Buff 2(W). I also absolutely LOVE the packaging! « Read the rest of this entry »
Sephora VIB + Lush + YSL + MAC + Drugstore Haul
March 31, 2012 § 19 Comments
Yes… I had a huge shopping spree (to me anyways) yesterday, and my excuses this time are: 1. 15% off at Sephora; 2: I worked in the lab from 10AM-9PM the day before; I won a Lush gift card from the wonderful Magdalena; 4: $10 off YSL Touche Eclat at The Bay ends soon.
So with all the reasonings above, I headed for Toronto for a weekend of shopping!

First I went to Lush, with the hope to get the Mask of Magnaminty, but they were all out of the smaller size, so I decided to get that another time. I did pick up Angels on Bare Skin (a facial cleanser), and a solid shampoo. The sales associate recommended Squeaky Green so I am going to give that a try, since I have absolutely no experience with Lush hair care. I was weary about how long the shampoo will last since it’s a pretty small piece, but apparently it lasted the sales associate 6-8 months… Although I still have doubts about that, I guess I will have to see for that myself!
Then I headed to MAC, I never liked the sales associates in MAC in Eaton’s Centre, everytime I went there, they act like they are too good to talk to you. I went to pick up another Cremesheen Glass but I also wanted to try the Pro Longwear Lipglass since there was a colour I really liked. Oh boy it was the most most most sticky lipgloss I have ever tried in my life, even after I wiped it off my lips, my lips still feel sticky, so that’s a no-go. I ended up picking up a Cremesheen Glass in Deelight (mid-tone neutral) as per recommendation from Karen (at makeupandbeautyblog). It’s such a natural colour, a change from my beloved Double Dare, but I can see how this will become an essential in my make up routine!
I headed to The Bay to pick up the YSL Touche Eclat since they have a $10 off coupon! I have wanted to try it for the longest time but could not justify the price tag, so this coupon gave me an excuse! Touche Eclat is such a holy grail item for so many people, so I really hope I will love it too! It’s a highlighter but everyone says it’s absolutely great as an undereye concealer, which is something I needed desperately! I got matched with the shade 2.5 (Luminous Vanilla, for light to medium complexion with warm undertone).

And now to the store that basically sucks money out of my bank account – Sephora. I am still upset I didn’t get to go to the VIB event on March 28th to get all the freebies! But hey, what can I do? Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer is the only thing I actually needed, but the only shade they are out of is mine (Bisque). I checked another Sephora later and they said they have been out of this shade for at least 3 months and there might be some manufacturing problem with the shade. Erm, what?! So not impressed with that. Anyways, so then I went around Sephora and picked up a few other things, I have read amazing review about Ole Henriksen skin care products, so I picked up the “3 little wonders” kit, which contains the Truth Serum Collagen Booster, Sheer Transformation, and Invigorating Night Gel. Since I am obsessed with lipsticks, I just had to pick one up since I was in Sephora. I ended up getting Make Up For Ever Rouge Artist Intense in 32. It’s a gorgeous satin soft pink. So excited to wear this! I also picked up a duo pack of Evian Facial Spray. I have meant to get this for the longest time but never remember, and it caught my eye this time when I was heading to the check out.

Make Up For Ever Lipstick in 32
Lastly I went to Shoppers Drug Mart just to kill time, but I’m glad I did since they had the whole Yes To… line on sale! I picked up the Yes To Cucumbers Natural Glove Facial Towelettes. It will be so useful for me since I travel between cities quite often and it’s a pain to bring make up remover and cleanser and all those. Now I only need to bring this pack of 3-in-1 wipes!

I also got a bunch of samples from Sephora and The Bay!

From top middle, clockwise
YSL L’Homme Libre Eau de Toilette
Ole Henriksen Trueh Creme Advanced Hydration x2
Bumble and Bumble Grooming Creme x2
Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Oil Free in Nude (since Bisque is all out, I am trying this to see if I can use this shade instead!)
Make Up For Ever HD Blush #6 (Quickie)
Ole Henriksen Total Truth Eye Cream
Skyn Oxygen Infusion Night Cream x2
Did you take advantage of the 15% off at Sephora? I’d love to hear what you bought!
