Wish list Vol 4.

May 24, 2012 § 12 Comments

I haven’t done a wish list in quite a while. There haven’t been too many things I wanted, so it took me a while to put together another wish list. It’s a mish-mash of make up, tech stuff, shoes, accessories etc. What are you wishing for right now?

Wishful Wednesday… Kate Spade Elina Flats

May 2, 2012 § 4 Comments

Image via wishwall.me

I have been looking for a new pair of flats for a while, and this is no easy task for me. Most flats make my feet bleed (yeah… I’m way beyond just blisters). I am also very picky about how my flats look. I personally prefer heels, but my feet and ankles feel otherwise. I have had times where I wear heels for the whole week, and then my ankle (or some tendon in there) decide to get inflammed and hurt with every step I take. So I guess a new pair of flats is needed.

I currently own one pair of flats (and maybe 10 pairs of heels… oops), and it is a pair of leopard printed flats from Aldo that I picked up for around $11CAD (It was on clearance and then there’s an extra 30% off and I had a discount for 15%). It is a bit too big for me, which also explains why it did not give me blisters (or a bloodbath!). But I have been wearing it so much I feel like its nearing the end of its services, hence here I am, looking for another pair of flats.

This pair of Kate Spade flats showed itself to me first on Pinterest, I fell in love with it instantly! Cork has been pretty big on heels lately, but I have never seen them used like this on flats! The gold cap also really drew me in. I love the contrast between the naturalness of the cork, and the trendiness of the gold.

Now if only this doesn’t cost a whopping $225… I might actually cave and buy this if they are really comfortable, so I guess I will see how I feel after I try them on!

What do you think of these shoes? Have you ever tried flats from Kate Spade? If so, are they comfortable?

NARS + Essie + The Bay Haul

April 28, 2012 § 20 Comments

I went to Holt Renfrew today in hope of locating the Prada bags I have been lusting for… but with no luck. Holt Renfrew just does not carry what I want! They did not have the Balenciaga City Bag that I wanted, or the Marc by Marc Jacob wallet that I wanted… and now this. But all is not lost! I wandered to the NARS counter, and ended up purchasing two NARS products from their summer collection. They did not have the products out for display yet, but they did have the products in stock. (Sephora did not have the summer collection in stock as of today). I got the Never Say Never Velvet Matte Lip Pencil, and the Liberte Blush. I totally did not plan on getting these today (was going to wait till I head to the states), but Holt Renfrew is having a promotion where you get a gift card that’s worth 15% of your cosmetic purchase, and 25% of your apparel and accessory purchase. Their site says it’s from April 28-29. I also got a Valentino perfume sample when I saw walking around! Yay for perfume samples! « Read the rest of this entry »

Spring/Summer Day Out Outfit

March 19, 2012 § 2 Comments

The weather has been unseasonably hot lately. It feels like it’s summer but it’s not even officially spring yet. I remember last year this time there was still snow on the ground! Talk about global warming eh. I am definitely not complaining about the weather, I just wish I was more prepared for this since I packed away all my summer clothes and brought them home to Winnipeg during reading week. I guess it’s time to shop for shorts and skirts and dresses!

Anyhow, this gorgeous weather inspired me to put together a outfit that I think would be perfect for this weather, it’s simple, cute, and yet the lace and flower hairpiece add some femininity to it. I used it with pink shorts but to be honest, any pastel colored shorts would look great with this outfit! I hope you like it!

Wishlist Vol. 3

March 1, 2012 § 6 Comments

I was planning on posting this on leap year day… but decided that school is slightly more important… Guess I will have to wait 4 more years for another chance to post on Feb 29.

Anyhow, it’s wishlist time again! I haven’t been window/online browsing a lot last month so there aren’t thattttttt many things I want. I was very focused on deciding which Balenciaga City to get, and nope. Still no decision.

I have been mostly obsessed with shoes lately, particularly sandals. Spring is almost here! Both neutral and bright sandals are going strong this spring. Especially colour blocks!

February 20, 2012 § 5 Comments

It’s spring time! Almost anyways. And bright pumps are the best way to step into spring! It’s so colourful, cheery and can liven up any outfit immediately! Colour-blocking pumps are the epitome of bright pumps in my opinion. There are so many different variation, so many combinations, and they are so much more eye catching!

Here are some colour-blocking pumps that I found for every price bracket!

1 Boyfriend Blazer, 2 Ways with Bright Pumps

February 16, 2012 § 2 Comments

Hello there, I noticed I haven’t done a 2 ways post for a while! Since I just finished one round of insane school work, I think it’s about time for me to post another one! This time I was inspired by boyfriend blazers. They are such a staple in any wardrobe, simply because 1. they go with so many things, 2. you can dress it up and down. I guess 2 is kind of included in 1… Anyhow, I was thinking it’s almost spring (in my mind. But in reality we just got hit by more snow, I hope the weather is more gorgeous where you are!), I want to incorporate something colourful that will cheer people up! And being a shoe addict… bright coloured pumps naturally came to my mind. I hope you enjoy this 2 ways post!

1 Pair of Oxford Heels, 2 Ways with Balenciaga

February 3, 2012 § 1 Comment

Ever since pearlessence showed me these oxford heels… I have been obsessed with them ever since. I managed to snatch a pair of oxford heels from another store when they were 70% off and they turned out to be the most comfortable heels I’ve ever worn! I was inspired by this obsessed and decided to put together two outfits to go with black oxford heels. Since they are perfect for dressing up or just a casual day out, I put together a casual and a more put together outfit that’d be perfect for a lunch date!

As for Balenciaga… well I am having an unhealthy obsession with the brand. I am in love with this bag and I have been looking at other purses from Balenciaga so I decided to pay homage to the brand by featuring them in these outfits! And hopefully in the near future I will be able to afford my very own Balenciaga bag.

1 Leather Jacket, 2 Ways with Lace

January 5, 2012 § 1 Comment

I am in love with lace, and leather, so I thought… why not put an outfit together with those two? Lace is ultra feminine while leather gives off a tough feel. I was playing around on Polyvore and put two outfits together.
The same leather jacket (from All Saints) is featured in both outfits. The first one (on the left) is a more casual, everyday outfit coupled with a lace top, skinny jeans, over-the-knee boots and a structured bag all in neutral colours, which makes it appropriate for an everyday look. You can easily spice up the look with a bag with a brighter bag or accessories.
The one of the right is a more feminine, special occasion look that’s perfect for a cocktail party. I paired the jacket with a lace dress from Mango, and heels from Aldo. Accessories-wise, I included a gold bow ring from Tiffany & Co (I love bows too much and it adds a hint of cuteness to the feminine look), and a tangerine Ted Baker clutch. I just had to include this pop of colour because tangerine is the 2012′s colour of the year and it’s the perfect eye-catching accessory to add to the outfit.

I Crave… Lacey Shoes + Wish

December 18, 2011 § 2 Comments

Exam stress is getting to me, and my way of dealing with it is… to look at pretty things that I can’t afford! (Yes I know that makes no sense but hey that’s what works for me!) I was browsing on Nordstrom to look for ideas to submit a product to a site called “Wish” (more on this later in the post) and I realize every pair of shoes I click on are… lacey! (and pricey!) They are just so feminine and classy, I can’t help but fall in love with them (and hopefully own a pair soon, trying to save up for a pair of Louboutin!)

I have previously blogged about studded shoes and how there are cheaper (<$200) options, but personally I think it’s a different story for lace pumps. I have yet to come across any cheaper alternative of lace pumps that still look classy, but I will keep my eyes open for them for sure!
