Covergirl Eyeshadow in Tapestry Taupe Review/Swatch

I picked this up when I was at Shoppers Drug Mart another day to return the Yes to Cucumber Facial Wipes (reviews coming soon). I had a $4 off coupon so I decided to pick this shadow up since I’ve heard many beauty gurus mention this in their videos.
According to Covergirl, these Eye Enhancers 1-Kit Shadows are “Simple, single shades with an advanced, stay-put formula. Mix and match them the way you want to create your own combos with matte, pearly or sparkly shades! They blend easily to let the natural beauty of your eyes come through.” I picked it up in Tapestry Taupe, since I am addicted to neutral shadows lately.
Tapestry Taupe is a very universal taupe colour that I think will look great on any skintone. It’s darker and more gold compared to Urban Decay’s Verve, less gold than Urban Decay’s Suspect, and lighter than MAC’s Satin Taupe.
I really enjoyed the formula, its very smooth. Pigmentation is pretty good, and can be built up. I wear this all over lid when I’m too lazy to do any blending before I rush out to class.
The thing that impressed me the most is the wear time. I looked into the mirror 8 hours after I put it on, no creasing whatsoever at all. Then at 14 hours… that’s when I see minimal creasing. I do wearing it over Urban Decay Primer Potion. But I wear that under any shadows, and even Urban Decay and MAC shadows start to crease after 8 hours. Such a great surprise from a drugstore product!
Overall I absolutely love this eye shadow, and I’m so glad I picked it up! If you are looking for an inexpensive, versatile taupe shadow, I hight suggest Tapestry Taupe! What’s your favourite drugstore eyeshadow?
